My name is Brianne Orten and I have been in child care for over 20 years. I started out as a full-time nanny at a young age and have taken care of kiddos from birth to teens. While nannying, I decided to go to school for Early Childhood Education and I received my degree in 2012. During the pandemic I was not only a nanny but also a teacher to my 4 little charges, which my degree definitely helped me with. I started to look at my future as my littles were getting older and were getting to the point I was no longer needed. I contemplated looking for a new family or at a possible career change. While I was looking at other possible careers, I came across Newborn Care Specialist. I fell in love with the idea of caring for newborns and helping parents with the beginning of their amazing new life with their bundle of joy! Once I decided this is where my life was being called, I started to look at training and found the incredible Newborn Care Solutions. Once I completed the foundational course, I started to work for some amazing families to get more experience (outside of my intermittent newborn care in my 20 years). Since 2020 I have immersed myself in all things newborns and sole focused on building my NCS career. I have always known I loved this phase of life, but I truly found my passion. Along with my hands-on experience, I have continued my education with The First 6 weeks, Food Allergies in Depth, and am currently an Elite Year 1 student with Newborn Care Solutions. I have also signed up for the advanced program and many other trainings that will extend my knowledge in order to best help parents with their little ones.
Outside of this amazing life of a Newborn Care Specialist, I am a Colorado native and love all the things that come with that - snowboarding in the winter and paddle boarding in the summer, as well as camping, hiking 14ers, bowling in a league, and playing disc golf with my husband. I have a fur baby; she is a beautiful 5-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog and the best friend a girl could ask for.
